These are the interior design trends for 2021

Every year there are new and exciting interior trends with which you can give your home a fresh update. The color trend of 2021 is blue in its varieties! Great examples are the colors of Farrow & Ball Pitch Blue, fresh Ultra Marine Blue and the dark, inky Stiffkey Blue. Powerful colors that create a hotel room atmosphere and come together beautifully in the interior trend of 2021: Modern Classic. Nienke, sales and styling advisor in the EPI Experience Showroom, is happy to tell you more about this.

Modern Classic

We at EPI are priviledged. Whilst we get to help people decide on their new floor, we also get to see the most beautiful interior designs. One of the styles we often see, but never bores and also evolves over time is Modern Classic.

We see an increase in the renovation of impressive monumental buildings, such as Fort Isabella in Vught or Zuid Breda in the town of  Breda turned into luxurious appartements. To emphasise the  historic charactaristics of the building, designers often combine a modern interieur design with classic accents.

A love of classics

The interiors often reflect the love of historic details. A modern white glossy kitchen with antique copper pots and pans. An antique table combined with modern blue dining chairs and large taats doors next to an exposed brick wall.

We also see the reverse. A newbuild house without historic elements. Here it’s all about contrast. A bathroom with for example Corestone Classic on the walls and floor, and a classic clawfoot bathtub as eye catcher in the middle.

Corestone Nature

Our flooring systems are the perfect partner for this style. Our latest release, Corestone Nature, is a great base to start your design. A resin floor with the look & feel of a cement floor that has the strong qualities of a resin floor.

In one of the 36 natural shades, Corestone Nature almost looks like clay. Combine a Corestone Nature floor with, for example, an oak herringbone pattern. Think of herringbone kitchen fronts, accents on the walls in the hall or as table top.

And even with a heat pump, this floor can be used in your interior. A Corestone Nature floor is only 2 millimeters thick, so you get the maximum return from your underfloor heating.
